The blog is edited and hosted by the Abt Associates Governance and International Practice. We feature reflections from this team: based on conferences we have attended, papers we have read, projects we are working on or topical issues. As well as insights and ideas from guest bloggers.

While we may call ourselves a ‘soapbox’, all conversations on this blog begin with the assumption that no one person or organization has all the answers to: ‘what is ‘effective aid and development’, and how do we do it better’? …If we had, well, we would all be out of a job! As such, it is crucial that our readers (i.e. you) get involved and contribute your own ideas and suggestions. In particular, we want to hear from those at the coal-face of development. Tell us where we’re wrong, why and how to improve.
