This blog is a frank and fearless forum for all things ‘governance’ and international development.
It is a place for practitioners and theorists to share experiences and debate what works, what doesn’t, and why in aid and development – with the aim of challenging the status quo, and finding new ways to achieve collective action and impact.
The blog is edited and hosted by the Abt Associates Governance and International Practice. We feature reflections from this team: based on conferences we have attended, papers we have read, projects we are working on or topical issues. As well as insights and ideas from guest bloggers.
While we may call ourselves a ‘soapbox’, all conversations on this blog begin with the assumption that no one person or organization has all the answers to: ‘what is ‘effective aid and development’, and how do we do it better’? …If we had, well, we would all be out of a job! As such, it is crucial that our readers (i.e. you) get involved and contribute your own ideas and suggestions. In particular, we want to hear from those at the coal-face of development. Tell us where we’re wrong, why and how to improve.
